Yesterday, I was called to a job to open a failed garage door. Turned it that a screw had come out, and the door handle operated to no avail, failing to pull the latch that actually holds the door closed.
I was pretty surprised to find it was a Garador Mk1, a door that is, afaik, from the 1960s, and has operated flawlessly for about 60 years!

It didn’t take long to open without damage, but the obsolete screw thread, possibly UNC 1/4″, so the repair took a bit longer, and some on site metalwork, but it was soon fully restored with a new M5 screw which shouldn’t come out for at least a few more decades!
